Historic Site

The 664 acre park is the site of the English’s first permanent settlement in the Carolinas. When you visit Charlestown Landing you will see archeological investigations, reconstructed buildings, a 1670’s styled vegetable garden, as well as 80 acres English formal gardens showcasing thousands of azaleas, camellias and live oaks. There is a colonial village and a replica of the 17th century sailboat Adventure. There are also 7 miles of paved and unpaved trails that wind through the marsh, audio tours, picnic areas and a natural habitat zoo.
